Ice Hockey: Slovak star signs on for new season

Edinburgh CAPITALS have re-signed ice hockey forward Peter Holecko, and player coach Richard Hartmann believes his Slovakian countryman will play a number of important roles for the club when the new season gets underway in September.

Hartmann said: “I wanted to add a core of players from last year we could build from and who knew my systems. Having three or four returning imports was always my plan. Peter can play wing or centre, is popular in the locker room, and I expect him to have a very productive season. We are looking to add size and skill to our squad, and Peter can help complement the different roles we may have to play next season.”

The club are waiting to hear from a number of players who have been offered contracts. Hartmann continued: “My main
priorities are the goalie, defence and remaining forwards.”
