Ice Hockey: Rene Jarolin extends Caps deal

EDINBURGH CAPITALS have received a major boost after Elite League top scorer Rene Jarolin penned a 12-month contract extension, keeping him at Murrayfield for the 2012-13 season.

The Slovakian ice hockey star has netted an impressive 35 goals already this term and becomes the second Capitals player to extend his contract after player/coach Richard Hartmann did so earlier in the season. Jarolin said: “I really enjoy it here, and I’m happy to be here. I’m pleased to be part of Richard’s team, and he is one of the main reasons why I’m coming back next year.”

Last night’s clash between the Edinburgh Capitals and Nottingham Panthers was called off just hours before the 6pm face-off after the East Midlands outfit made the decision not to travel due to heavy snow in the Nottingham area.
