Ice Hockey: Clan gather to see off Caps

EDINBURGH CAPITALS’ three-game Elite League winning streak was brought to a shuddering halt last night when they crashed 8-2 to Braehead Clan.

The ice hockey side, who had beaten Clan 4-2 at Murrayfield on Sunday night, travelled west hoping for a victory which would see them leapfrog their opponents into sixth place in the ten-strong table.

Canadian forward Brock McPherson did most of the damage, scoring four times past the Caps, whose replies came from Peter Holecko and Marcis Zembergs.

Edinburgh will look to bounce back this weekend as they travel to face Fife Flyers on Saturday before hosting Dundee CCS Stars on Sunday.
