Haydn Porteous (SA) bt Marc Warren (Sco) 1 hole

Three down after four, Porteous hauled himself back to all square by the turn and was five-under for the four par-5s, including an eagle at the 11th.

James Morrison (Eng) bt Michael Hoey (NIre) 4&3

The Englishman was seven-under for 15 holes, having eagled the 11th and also birdied the second, third, fifth, sixth and 12th in a flawless round.

Oliver Fisher (Eng) bt Richie Ramsay (Sco) 3&1

The Englishman got his nose in front straight away with a birdie, was in the driving seat when he got to four up after 12 before losing the 14th and 16th to pars.

Johan Carlsson (Swe) bt Chris Paisley (Eng) 4&3

All square with eight holes to go, the Swede went eagle-birdie-birdie-birdie to win the next four. He’d earlier birdied the second, third and sixth.

Anthony Wall (Eng) bt Richard Green (Aus) at 19th

The Englishman birdied three holes in a row from the 11th to be three up with five to play before squeezing through at the first extra hole.

The Spaniard was seven-under-par and flawless for 15 holes, having laid the foundations for his victory by winning the third, fourth and fifth.

Maximillian Kieffer (Ger) bt Daniel Brooks (Eng) 2&1

As Brooks was unable to reproduce his morning fireworks, Kieffer progressed with four birdies, having got his nose in front with the first of those at the second.

Alex Noren (Swe) bt Nacho Elvira (Esp) 2&1

In his toughest test so far, Scottish Open champion Noren found himself one down with eight to play before turning the tide his way with birdies at the 11th and 16th.
