Horse Racing: Inheritor targets more joy at Wolverhampton

INHERITOR ended last year on a winning note at Wolverhampton and can pick up where he left off back at that track.

The four-year-old tackles the same nine furlongs again in the Bet Premier League Football – Betdaq Handicap and despite a 3lb rise, he looks a decent prospect. His overall wins-to-runs ratio is somewhat disappointing with just three victories in 16 starts but he appears to have found his niche on the all-weather and

caught many an eye in finishing a narrow second behind Caprio over seven furlongs in November.

Raised 1lb for that, Inheritor made full use of the extra two furlongs and a nice tow from two front-runners at Dunstall Park last month.

Owner Richard Page mentioned the competitive Lincoln Trial as a possible spring aim, so Inheritor will have to be running well here to live up to those kind of expectations.

It is worth making a note of Crimson Flame in the closing Dine In The Horizons Restaurant Handicap. He makes a swift reappearance after finishing a short-head second here on Tuesday. That was only his second run back after a long absence and he looks to be thriving now he is back on the track.

Connections of Chanrossa will be hoping this Galileo filly can finally gain a valuable victory in the Lingfield Park Fourball Handicap. The four-year-old is related to a Grade Three winner but she has failed to strike in 13 starts, although she has faired much better in handicap company than maiden events so far. She returns to handicap level this time and is of interest off a 1lb lower mark.
