Hockey: Strathallan edge out hosts to take title

Strathallan's girls defeated the hosts in the final to lift the Fettes College under-13 hockey tournament.

In the group stages Strathallan drew with George Heriot's 0-0 before defeating both Ardvreck and Edinburgh Academy. In the Ardvreck match Isla Patterson, Lucy Provan and Nina Mearns scored in a 3-0 victory, while Mearns grabbed two in the 2-0 win over the Academy.

In the last four the side needed penalties to see off George Watson's College after a 1-1 draw in normal time and in the final they defeated Fettes 1-0 with the in-form Mearns again grabbing the goal.
