Hockey: Scots find it tough in Four Nations

The Scotland under-18 girls squad found the going tough in the four nations tournament at Lillieshall when they lost their opening game 3-2 against England.

Dundee Wanderers’ Jessica Ross opened the scoring in her debut with a penalty corner strike in only three minutes, but the English were level at 1-1 by the interval. England went 2-1 ahead early in the second half before the Scots youngsters soon equalised, but the winner for the host country came with eight minutes to go through Charlotte Burrows from a setpiece.

In their second game, the Scots were no match for a talented Germany side, going down 5-0.

The under 16 girls also lost their two games; they went down 2-0 to England and were then thrashed 9-0 by Germany.
