Hockey: Edinburgh Capitals dealt a blow as Hutchins moves to Dundee CCS

EDINBURGH Capitals' top hit-man last season, Jeff Hutchins, has quit the cash-strapped ice hockey club for their Elite League rivals Dundee CCS Stars.

The 33-year-old forward put pen to paper after helping Great Britain earn a silver medal in the recent World Championships.

And Hutchins said: I've heard nothing but good things about the organisation, the city and their loyal fans.

"It's an exciting prospect to be joining a club that has aspirations to move up in the standings and to compete for trophies and I intend to do my part to help them achieve that.

"I look forward to getting going in the new season and to joining up with my new team-mates."

Hutchins spent two seasons with Edinburgh and Stars' head coach, Dan Ceman, said: "Jeff is a proven performer in this league who has scored 20 goals or more in a season five times and will stand up for his teammates if necessary.

"After talking with him I was impressed with his desire to contribute to a winning hockey team.

"I think Jeff will be a very important player for us and I'm delighted to have him on board."
