Hockey: Division one clubs deducted points

Seven division one clubs have felt the wrath of Scottish Hockey with the deduction of Subway national indoor league points for failing to nominate umpires to the pool for December and January as stipulated in the laws.

All clubs were due to provide the name of their umpire for each weekend by specific dates, but their failure to do so could now have serious implications on their final league standing, On the men's side AMN Hillhead have been worse hit with the loss of five points, Grange were deducted four and Glynhill Kelburne one. Hillhead are already bottom of the table with no points. If these points fines remain in place - and they can be appealed - then both Grange and Kelburne would also become relegation candidates.

The destiny of the women's title could finally come down to the loss of a point by championship contenders Grove Menzieshill. The biggest blow falls on newly promoted Waverley Inveresk Trinity who lose six points. Reid Kerr College Kelburne lose two points and Grove's second string lose one.
