Highland: Shewan eyes revenge in title-deciding clash

BUCKIE Thistle and Deveronvale warmed up for a final-day title showdown with, respectively, a 2-0 home win over Turriff and a 3-1 success at Wick. And Buckie veteran Jamie Shewan says the pain of a 7-0 thrashing by Vale earlier this season can drive Thistle to back-to-back titles.

An all-ticket 2,600 crowd will gather at Victoria Park on Saturday and Shewan, 34, said: "We know a point would be enough to win the league, but we'll be going all out to do it in style.

"Vale have had a very good season too but we have the added incentive to gain revenge for the 7-0 defeat at Banff in January.

"We are still hurting from that but we have bounced back to sit top of the league. Saturday can't come quickly enough."

Thistle's goals against Turriff came from Donnie Munro and Mo Morrison, while Mark Chisholm, Derek Milne and Graham Watt were on target for Deveronvale, who fell behind to a Brian McKiddie goal.
