Barry Purnell, Baberton: "I'm just absolutely ecstatic after that performance – the best £25 I've ever spent. I came through with my mate and the traffic was a nightmare, while we made a very poor start. We just didn't get going in the opening stages but we held on. When you go 1-0 down at Parkhead you get the feeling that you'll end up being shell-shocked.

"However, Liam Miller was fantastic and we scored a great equaliser just before half-time. And who can forget Danny 'Champion of the World' Galbraith – a great winner.

"You saw a lot of complaints to the referee at that point but, to me, it was nothing other than a great strike. Three points coming home along the M8 – you really can't ask for any more than that.

"Hughes made some great substitutions, bringing on Stevenson and Galbraith at just the right time.

"Obviously we're talking about second spot at the moment and I think we're in good shape for at least third place, with a Europa League spot, especially with other results going well for us."

Andrew Brown, Duddingston: "It took a while for Hibs to find their feet. It was a bit of a blow to lose such an early goal to Fortune. I thought the team responded well to going a goal behind.

"We were quite positive and it was good to see Boruc come out and miss yet again for Stokes' leveller.

"By half-time, I thought we were playing quite well and the Celtic fans were getting on their team's back a bit. We seemed to be getting a bit of confidence.

"At the start of the second half, Celtic were under pressure, with chances, and good goalkeeping by Smith. He was punching clear of the box and commanding his area quite well.

"I thought Hogg was unlucky with his shot with five minutes to go when he put it wide and it was a good breakaway goal up the park with Stokes being left with two Celtic defenders – the way he turned inside was great. I initially thought Galbraith was offside but he drilled the ball into the net to send the Hibs fans wild. Is there a better time to score a winner at Parkhead? This result should give the boys confidence and now we have a solid midfield we should be confident in every game."

David Smith, Howdenhall: "Hibs made a terrible, slow start to the game but, with Celtic dominating, Smith stood strong and pulled off some miraculous saves.

"This, in turn, lifted the rest of the team and you could see the confidence starting to flow. Celtic are rather ordinary and they know that. We took control and bullied them until we got the goal with half-time being the only way they Mowbray's new-look shambles avoided going behind.

"The second half was more balanced and credit to John Hughes tactical ploy. Riordan and Nish had both worked very hard and the move to tighten up midfield for the inevitable onslaught was supplemented with Galbraith being involved for the break out. He caused problems down the right-hand side as soon as he was on the pitch.

"Celtic's usual diving in desperation was correctly ignored by an unusually strong Ian Brines with the benefit of the advantage rule fully utilised by Stokes and Galbraith. Special mention to young Paul Hanlon, who grew in stature and showed that Yogi was right not to get drawn into paying over the odds for average SPL players rather than letting our youth blossom on the park. Time to have a beer before tearing St Mirren apart in a high-tempo start at the weekend."
