Hibs: Your Say

Gavin Davis from Duddingston said: "Once again we put in a massive effort to a match against one half of the Old Firm, and once again we leave with nothing. This is nothing to do with the contest between the teams but all to do with the referee who, for some reason, constantly saw Hibs players committing offences but failed to do the same to Celtic.

"Time and time, again Colin Nish was fouled in and out of the box and the end result, it was Colin Nish who received a booking. The first half was all Hibs and only a great stop by the Celtic keeper stopped Murray scoring from a Riordan free kick. The second half Celtic took the initiative as Richmond allowed them freedom to dive, kick and handle the ball as they wished and this led to a very soft penalty being awarded, (are we surprised). The million dollar man Robbie Keane converted the spot kick but yesterday he was up against Sol Bamba, who showed the Irishman who was the better player, as time and time again it was Bamba that won the tussles.

"We played better and received very little, but if we can keep this tempo up in the later games of this season then we are still in the hunt for a European place. Man of the match for Hibs was Sol Bamba, if he leaves at the end of the season he will leave a massive gap."

Ross Morgan from Willowbrae said: "We started the better of the two teams and the game looked like it had a no-score draw written all over it as both teams failed to trouble either keeper. The breakthrough for Celtic when it came was by a very soft penalty, awarded by Richmond. This time he deemed a high boot by Stokes was worth a spot kick, Stack very nearly saved the kick but was just beaten by the pace on the shot.

"There wasn't much football on show as the pitch, which wasn't good enough for players to play the beautiful game, the basic control of the football was make very difficult by the bobbles and bounces of the ball. Best move of the game resulted in a Riordan shot which fiercely rattled the bar and the ball bounced over to end the danger.

"Celtic were hanging on near the end as Benji, who replaced Rankin took control of the midfield and started creating chances for Stokes, maybe if the replacement had been made a bit earlier that we might have gained a deserved draw.

"Terrific efforts from the boys and we just didn't get the little break that would have allowed us to score. Man of the match for Hibs was Bamba, along with Thicot, as they snuffed out most of what Celtic could through at them."
