Hibs put back in cold storage as Accies game called off

Hibs' SPL game against Hamilton, set to take place at New Douglas Park tonight, was called off yesterday due to a frozen pitch, causing yet more disappointment for clubs and fans alike.

A new date for the fixture has yet to be announced by league officials. A statement from the SPL confirmed: "The Hamilton Academical v Hibernian game at New Douglas Park has been postponed due to a frozen pitch. A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course." A pitch inspection had been planned for this morning but the SPL were able to make an earlier decision on the match.

Water and electrical problems prevented the undersoil heating froms working at the weekend, resulting in the postponement of Accies' game against Celtic. Repairs to the electrical heating pumps are under way but the pitch remains frozen and a forecast for more sub-zero temperatures meant there was no chance of a thaw in time for the game against Hibs to go ahead.
