Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo brings in strict regime after Aberdeen loss

The Hearts manager is still irked by the manner of last weekend's Scottish Cup elimination at Pittodrie, when he felt some established players lost focus on the task in hand. Without naming names, he was angered by certain individual performances in the second half and, in particular, the build-up to both Aberdeen goals.

He stressed today that he will not tolerate a repeat against St Mirren and said the team must revert back to the resilience produced in their recent league matches. "In football you must have very high discipline and very good organisation. Without discipline, you don't win anything," said Laszlo.

"It was a very disappointing afternoon in Aberdeen and I don't like to talk too much about things which influenced this game. We had a lot of young players but that is no excuse. We had some possibilities in the first half and at half-time we spoke about what we must do better. Then Aberdeen get two goals from our mistakes. These mistakes were what we talked about and prevented us holding the minimum of a draw.

"It was not our tactic to make a draw but it was the minimum target. I was disappointed that some experienced players did not do what was necessary. Especially in a cup game, you must use your brain. You must follow a strategy and not only run from A to B. We had a strategy but we did not have the attention. The players were told what is dangerous but they made mistakes to give the opponents chances to score. We lost concentration twice. The warnings were there in the first half.

"The team has shown very high discipline, concentration, will and organisation in the last five league games. We need to do this again for Saturday."
