Gymnastics: GB men master art of winning European silver

GREAT Britain's men won a European Artistic Gymnastics Championships team medal for the first time yesterday, winning silver as Germany took gold in the Birmingham event.

Errors on the pommel horse and parallel bars from World Championships all-around silver medallist Daniel Keatings cost Britain, though, as Germany triumphed by 3.125 points in a total of 266.150.

Britain's team of Keatings, Olympic pommel horse bronze medallist Louis Smith, Sam Hunter, Kristian Thomas and Daniel Purvis scored 263.025 points, while France finished third with 260.100.
