Guinness Premiership

WORCESTER could be relegated from the Guinness Premiership next weekend after Wasps moved back into title play-off contention with a 24-20 win at Sixways.

Wasps were made to scrap in the sunshine after two Dominic Waldouck tries and a Tom Rees touchdown put them 21-3 up after 23 minutes.

Worcester, belying their rock-bottom status, displayed admirable character to fight back through tries from skipper Pat Sanderson and substitute centre Alex Grove, while fly-half Willie Walker booted ten points.

Defeat away to fellow strugglers Leeds next Sunday though, could end Warriors' six-year Premiership stint after Danny Cipriani's three conversions and a penalty made the difference.

They are two points adrift of Leeds at the basement with just two games left, but Wasps' success took them into fourth above London Irish, who host Leeds today.

Bath's new multi-millionaire owner Bruce Craig left the Recreation Ground a happy man after watching his side claim a 34-15 victory over Sale.

Bath scored five tries and have a mathematical chance of making the play-offs, while Sale's main focus is now on their home game with Newcastle next Friday when they finally can end their relegation worries.
