World No 9 Lee, the highest-ranked player in the field, holed a 20-foot birdie putt at the first extra hole on the Faldo Course at the Emirates Golf Club to beat Frenchwoman Celine Boutier in a play-off.

Lee, who finished third behind Germany's Sophia Popov in the AIG Women's Open at Royal Troon in August, had closed with a three-under-par 69 to finish with a 10-under 206 total.

"It was really fun today," said the 24-year-old after adding to her 2018 Oates Victorian Open win on the LET and her eighth professional triumph in total. "It is pretty special to experience day/night golf on this wonderful golf course."

Lee had been unable to convert a 12-foot birdie putt to claim victory on the 54th hole but made no mistake from the other side of the hole in the play-off. "I could not see the break so well," she admitted, "but I knew it was going to be slow."

MacDonald finished in a tie eighth after signing off with a 68 for a seven-under total, one less than Henry after she carded a course-record 63.

The two-time LET winner signed for halves of 31-32, picking up four birdies in a row from the third before adding others at the eighth, 10th, 13th, 16th and 17th. “It’s my lowest stroke-play round,” said Henry.

Dubai-based Scot Alison Muirhead also finished in the top 20, signing off with a 70 for three-under.
