Tiger Woods and Padraig Harrington set for early Golf Hall of Fame entry

Tiger Woods and Padraig Harrington are among the ten nominees for induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame next year.

The duo are set for an early entry after the World Golf Foundation board of directors recently lowered its age criterion from 50 to 45.

Fifteen-time major winner Woods turns 45 in December while Harrington, a three-time major champion and Europe’s current Ryder Cup captain, is 49 in August.

Others nominees include Tom Weiskopf, who won the Open at Troon in 1973 and also co-designed the course at Loch Lomond Golf Club with Jay Morrish.

Former PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem is also set to be in the “Class of ‘21” along with Johnny Farrell, Susie Maxwell Berning, Beverly Hanson, Sandra Palmer, Dottie Pepper and Marion Hollins.

Meanwhile, Scot Ryan Lumsden is on course for a maiden MENA Tour win in his first full season in the professional ranks.

After carding a second 69 for a six-under-par total, he holds a two-shot lead heading into the final round of the circuit’s Journey to Jordan 2 at Ayla Golf Club in Jordan.
