Scottish golfing couple going head-to-head in title battle at Loch Lomond

Bragging rights are on the line in the Henry household this weekend, when LET player Kylie and husband Scott, a Challenge Tour card holder, go head-to-head in a title battle.

The pair will battle it out over 18 holes at Loch Lomond in the final of the Big Johnsons Tour Matchplay, an event set up this year by John Henry, Scott's younger brother, to provide a playing opportunity for home-based pros in a Covid-hit season.

Kylie, a two-time LET winner, beat former Walker Cup player Michael Stewart at Mar Hall in her semi-final, while Scott defeated Sean Lawrie on his home patch at Portlethen.

The title clash comes less than two years after Kylie and Scott became the first wife and husband to compete against each other in a professional tournament when they teed up in the Jordan Mixed Open.

"We’ve both been playing the Paul Lawrie Tartan Pro Tour events recently, so we’re getting used to competing against each other," said Kylie, who played in both the Ladies Scottish Open and Women’s Open in the summer. "Head-to-head match play is a first for us, though, and it’ll be good fun."

Scott, who won the Kazakhstan Open in 2012 on the Challenge Tour, added: "It's always a pleasure to play at Loch Lomond - one of the best courses on the planet.

"I'm looking forward to our match, but I will have to be on my best behaviour (laughing).

"Kylie is also in great form and playing very consistent whereas, recently, I haven’t exactly been on my best game."
