The first event of its kind, “An Audience with The Ryder Cup Captains” will be held in Perth Concert Hall on Monday 23 September.

Focused around a “fireside” Q&A, it will be hosted by Dougie Donnelly and is being held “to give people a chance to get up close and personal” with European captain McGinley and his US counterpart Watson.

Earlier the same day, the Year to Go celebrations will commence with a series of media interview and photo opportunities with official Ryder Cup Europe celebrity ambassadors, politicians and partners in both Edinburgh and Gleneagles.

Then, in the afternoon, McGinley and Watson will take part in a Captains’ Golf event on the PGA Centenary Course, playing nine holes with 18 junior golfers representing the Scottish ClubGolf programme.

The event will help mark the legacy of the Ryder Cup being staged in Scotland for the first time in more than 40 years.

The following day, McGinley and Watson will gather in The Ballroom at Gleneagles Hotel to host their first joint press conference since their respective appointments.
