Learning from the masters

The Ryder Cup at Gleneagles brought a special spin-off for P6 pupils at Prestonpans Primary when they were treated to lessons from the local Saltman brothers, Zack, 25, Elliott, 32 and Lloyd, 29, all professional golfers.

The masterclass took place in East Lothian as part of the Pride of Place initiative run by housebuilder David Wilson Homes’ Prestonfields development. Anne Ross, sales director for David Wilson Homes (East of Scotland said: “Our initiative is designed to provide help to and improve local communities. With the Ryder Cup in Scotland we decided to host a special event for Prestonpans Primary School.”

Zack Saltman said: “We had great fun teaching the pupils. My brothers and I have been playing golf together since we were little so it’s been great to have the opportunity to encourage younger members of the community to get involved in the sport.“
