Kevin Streelman shoots up golf world rankings

Kevin Streelman’s victory in the Tampa Bay Championship has lifted the American to 74th in the latest world rankings, a rise of 131 places.

Streelman was 225th at the end of 2012 and only 205th at the start of last week, but made the massive improvement after a closing round of 67 at Innisbrook saw him finish two shots ahead of Boo Weekley.

Streelman held off Weekley who had come from nowhere to shoot an eight-under 63 to take the clubhouse lead before he was pipped at the post.
