Golf: Starlets to descend on Dalmahoy

SCOTLAND’S golfing stars of the future are being urged to set up “camp” at Dalmahoy later this year.

The Kirknewton venue is hosting a new “Tour School” in the summer that is aimed at the best under-14 boys in the
country.

The programme will be led by Kendal McWade, an England Golf coach, and Scott Dixon, Dalmahoy’s head professional.

It has been inspired by the success of the players that have come through the Scottish
Junior Golf Tour and the North of England under-16 squads and gone on to play for their
respective countries.

“The Tour School is a specially-designed development and performance programme for boys under 14 who have the attitude and aptitude to be the very best they can be,” said Dixon. “Players that are considering joining us for the week must be willing to ‘outwork the rest’ as talent alone is simply not enough to make it to the top.

“The Tour School week will only be the start of what is a long-term plan to guide and support players and parents alike on the challenging
journey ahead.”

The Tour School takes place from July 29-August 2 and places will be limited.

Dixon is also running three “Brainy Golf Camps”, which are designed for kids who have
already started their journey in golf, in April and July.
