Golf: Laurie is the Main man . .

LAURIE MAIN won the bragging rights in a battle of the brothers as Gullane pipped North Berwick to secure a semi-final spot in the inaugural East Lothian Winter Golf Cup.

Brother Weston won his match for North Berwick in the company of League secretary Torquil McInroy, the duo producing a sub-par back nine to turn a two-hole deficit into victory. But Laurie, teaming up with regular partner Colin Sinclair in the anchor match for Gullane, secured a 3-2 win for the home side as they beat Euan Lambert and Fraser Henderson.

Joining Gullane in the last four are Kilspindie, Royal Musselburgh and Haddington, the latter having to dig deep to see off Musselburgh 3-2.
