Golf: Laing ends fine season on low note

In her final tournament of a great year, Musselburgh's Vikki Laing was disappointed to miss the cut at the Dubai Ladies' Masters at the Emirates Club.

Ayrshire's Pamela Feggans remained the leading Scot at the halfway stage thanks to a 74.

Laing, who has had five top-ten finishes and is eighth on the Ladies' European Tour Order of Merit, had a 77 to miss the cut by four strokes on nine over par.

On one over par, Feggans was eight strokes behind the leader, Lydia Hall, from Wales, and in a tie for 26th place.

Next week, Feggans will return to the LET final qualifying school at La Manga in Spain to try and win a full card for 2011.

Krystle Caithness (74) and Lynn Kenny (73) were the only other Scots to make the cut and they were both on the final five- over-par mark. Kylie Walker, had a 74 for eight over, while 18-year-old Carly Booth joined Laing on nine over after a 77.

Hall shot a second-round 67 to stand on seven under par and one ahead of Swedish Solheim Cup player, Anna Nordqvist, who added a 68 to her opening round of 70.
