Golf: Elliot Saltman chooses route 66

ELLIOT SALTMAN was lying in a tie for fifth in the Moroccan Classic today after producing his lowest round of the season.

He shot a six-under-par 66 that included nine birdies at Pullman Magazan Royal Golf and Spa in El Jadida.

Starting at the tenth in the Challenge Tour event, Saltman followed a birdie at the 11th with a double-boegy six at the next hole. He birdied the 13th, dropped a shot at the 14th before reeling off five birdies on the spin and then adding two more – at the fifth and eight.
