Golf: Dick wins Alliance by two shots

KINGSKNOWE golfer Allyn Dick produced the best damage limitation performance of the day in the Edinburgh and East of Scotland Alliance event at a windy Eyemouth.

The tough conditions were reflected by a higher number of no returns amongst 72 brave souls as well as Dick’s winning score of 77. He won by two shots from Cardona’s Stephen Lamb and Andrew Marshall of Houston Golf Range.

Duddingston’s Andy Downing claimed the Professional’s Trophy, for the best nett, with a 75 playing off 13. He finished five shots ahead of Dalmahoy’s Steven Lees.
