Golf: Catlin too hot to handle in Alliance event

GREENBURN'S Scott Catlin came out of cold storage to turn in a hot performance in the Edinburgh & East Scotland Alliance event at Eyemouth.

On a course completely free of snow and with normal greens and tees in play, Catlin shot a 69 - the lowest scratch score of the day by four shots.

And he claimed the Professional's Trophy - the net prize up for grabs - by virtue of a better inward half, pipping Falkirk Tryst's Ian Wyse.
