Ellon’s Ross Cameron and Jordan Findlay (Fraserburgh) missed the cut by four and 11 shots respectively. Motherwell’s O’Hara is joint 11th after a one-birdie 74 for one-under 143 – nine shots behind the German leader, Daniel Wunsche (67-67). Disappointment for Byrne at first event

ASIAN TOUR: James Byrne’s first crack at an event the professional circuit ended in disappointing fashion yesterday as he missed the cut at the Myanmar Open. The rookie pro from Banchory had seen his first round end in disappointment, as two bogeys on the last three holes saw him finish with a 70. But yesterday, he went from bad to worse, carding a two-over-par 74 which saw him miss the cut by two. Scott Hend, of Australia, leads the way on 13-under heading into the weekend’s final rounds, one ahead of Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand.
