Foster takes Premier win

PAUL FOSTER beat Alex Marshall to the top prize in the inaugural Premier Bowls League after an all-Scots final.

Foster took home 20,000 with Marshall pocketing 10,000 at Potters in Norfolk.

Troon's Foster dominated the final to win 6-3, 5-1 over Tranent's five times world indoor singles champion Marshall.

Foster said "I would be telling lies if I said this was not up with the world titles. You would love to win the world title every year but to win the first Premier League Bowls is an achievement on its own and I'm glad to be the first one to do it."

Marshall added: "Although I was a bit disappointed with the way I played, right from the start Paul was absolutely fantastic and I have no complaints."
