Formula 1: Di Resta has ‘increased his visibility’

Paul Di Resta’s manager feels the Scot has made himself more visible in the driver market following his stunning performance in Singapore.

After starting from a joint career-high grid slot of sixth, Di Resta followed up with his best result in his two years in Formula 1 with fourth in what is arguably the toughest race of the season.

For the 26-year-old, Di Resta could not have picked a better grand prix to showcase his talent and potential. With new management appointed in Richard Goddard, who has represented Jenson Button for many years, there is hope on the horizon with regard to a move to a bigger team.

Goddard said: “It was a fantastic drive from start to finish. The closer you finish to the podium and are on the podium, that’s when you get recognised by more and more teams. It will give him a lot more visibility.”

Di Resta he knows that to achieve the wins and possible titles he craves, he has to move on one day – and he has no doubts he can succeed. “I would like to think I am capable of stepping up to one of the bigger teams,” he said. “I have raced against the drivers at the top in the past and have had great battles with them and beaten them, but I’m not getting carried away.”
