We’ll make up for under-par performance, says McNulty

MARC McNULTY insists
Livingston are determined to make amends for their 4-0 drubbing by Dunfermline at Tynecastle tonight.

The striker reckons the
Lions won’t be overwhelmed by Hearts in the Scottish Communities League Cup and says the squad have treated the Gorgie side like any another opponent for the third-round showdown.

He said: “It’s a massive game. Ever since I’ve heard the draw I’ve been absolutely buzzing.

“We’ve not been at Tynecastle for a while and for a player like myself its probably one of the biggest games I’ll play. In terms of preparing for the opposition everything’s the exact same. For us its just another team. We treat every game the same, no matter who we’re up against.”

Livi will be looking to respond in style to their weekend mauling and McNulty admits there were few things right with the performance in Fife.

“Saturday definitely didn’t go to plan,” he said. “The boys were confident but we just didn’t turn up as a team.

“It wasn’t acceptable from any of the players and all the players accept that. We didn’t create very many chances and it was very frustrating.
Going forward our ball retention wasn’t good; we didn’t keep the ball very well and I think Dunfermline used that to their advantage.”

Despite that, McNulty says the players are focused on
trying to right those wrongs in the Capital this evening.

He said: “We’re looking to put that straight tonight at Tynecastle.”
