Wee Jambos earn draw

Spartans and a young Hearts team shared the honours in a 1-1 draw in their challenge match held at Spartans Community Academy at Ainslie Park in front of a healthy crowd of over 400.

“I would have to say ‘well done’ to both teams for what I thought was an excellent match,” said the Spartans co-manager, Sam Lynch. “Hearts have some really good and talented players who are all very quick, athletic and with a superb first touch.”

Hearts, Dale Carrick, Calum Paterson and Sam Nicholson all had good efforts saved by the Spartans goalkeeper Chris Flockhart while Dean Hoskins brought out two fine saves from Hearts’ Jack Hamilton before the young Jambos took the lead ten minutes before half-time, Nicholson who hitting a crisp left-foot shot from 14 yards low into the net.
