Victorious Vale of Leithen hit Lothian for six

Vale of Leithen triumphed 6-1 against Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale in a basement battle in the Central Taxis Premier Division. As well as losing, Lothian had two men sent off including goalkeeper Kevin Swain and are now just two points ahead of Vale in the league.

In the King Cup, Whitehill Welfare came from behind to beat Kelso United 3-1, Spartans progressed with a 1-0 win against Edinburgh University while the holders, Stirling University, beat Edinburgh City 3-1. Tynecastle defeated Heriot-Watt University 1-0 with a late goal from Daryl Burdett and there were wins for Gretna 2008 who beat Duns 5-2, Preston Athletic 4-2 against Easthouses Lily and Civil Service Strollers who triumphed 1-0 against Selkirk.

In the Central Taxis First Division, leaders Coldstream won 3-0 away to Eyemouth United, Gala Fairydean beat Hawick Royal Albert 5-2 and Peebles Rovers and Ormiston shared the points in a 1-1 draw.
