The Souters did rally with James Hudson doing well to prevent two David Battle in-swinging corners finding the net. But the home side were deserving of their half time lead. Danny Noon doubled the advantage with a looping header on 51 minutes. and the tie was settled just two minutes later as Scott Moffat steered Sproule’s cross into the net.

Leithen’s co-manager Kerr Dodds fired home a fourth before Moffat raced away to score the fifth on 83 minutes.

Selkirk’s Jonny Watt grabbed a late consolation but it didn’t spoil the home celebrations at the final whistle.
