United in Norway during pre-season

Manchester United will play in Norway for the first time in ten years this August as part of their 2012/13 pre-season tour.

The reigning Barclays Premier League champions will face Valerenga on 5 August in Oslo’s Ullevaal Stadium. It will be the first time the club has played in Norway since 2002, and upon announcing the game, United chief executive David Gill said: “We have fantastic fans in Norway. The Scandinavian supporters’ club is our biggest anywhere in the world with over 40,000 members.”
