Here, we highlight some of the key figures for Ronny Deila’s side this season.

KIERAN TIERNEY

Few Celtic fans would have been aware of the teenage left-back at the start of the season, but he took over from Honduras international Emilio Izaguirre and made the position his own. He soon caught the eye with his energetic, dynamic and skilful play and his tough tackling despite his frail appearance. His potential and consistency of performance came to the attention of Scotland manager Gordon Strachan and the 18-year-old received his first call-up to the senior national squad in March for a friendly against Denmark at Hampden, and played the first half of the 1-0 win. Tipped for a big future.

The former Wolves forward had a slow start to life at Celtic Park under Deila and at one stage many would have bet on him leaving the club before the Norwegian, but he emerged as a the main striker at the start of 2015 and had a fine finish to the campaign. This season he has stepped up another level. Griffiths’ consistency in front of goal has brought a remarkable 39 goals so far - and nudged him into Strachan’s thoughts for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Often asked to lead the line on his own, he has come up with important goals at important times and Celtic fans might shudder to think how the campaign might have panned out had he not been in such electric form.

CRAIG GORDON

It would be incorrect to say that Craig Gordon has had his best season. However, the Scotland goalkeeper has had a steady and safe campaign. With the back four constantly changing and with some erratic performances from those in front of him, it has not been easy for the former Hearts and Sunderland man, but there have been times when he has been top drawer. For example, a fine display against Dundee in April kept the game goalless. There remains a calmness about Gordon which makes him a mainstay in the team and it is one position the new manager - whoever he may be - will not be concerned with when he comes in during the summer.
