Third Division roundup: Annan looking to climb back into title reckoning

Annan Athletic are looking to bounce right back into the Third Division title race by seeing off Clyde at Galabank after a disappointing run of form that has seen them slip off top spot and down to third place behind Alloa and Stranraer.

Annan manager Harry Cairney said: “We’ve only won twice in our last nine league games after seven wins in our first eight games so it has been a poor spell. However we have the chance to get back to within two of Alloa with the same amount of games played if we win, and I’m determined that we take that chance.”

Elgin manager Ross Jack has challenged his men to end a four-game winless run and get back into the promotion chase by seeing off East Stirling at Borough Briggs. Jack said: “We led the league at one time but have slipped since and this is an opportunity to start going back up the way.”
