Third Division: Hartley rues Alloa draw

WITH Third Division leaders Annan idle, Paul Hartley’s Alloa missed a chance to go level with the Galabank men after drawing 1-1 with East Stirling at Recreation Park.

It could have been worse as Bradley Coyne had a great chance to add to Michael Hunter’s opener but home goalkeeper Scott Bain saved.

However, Craig Campbell ensured the points were shared, heading home his first goal for the club seven minutes from time. Hartley said afterwards, “It was a good opportunity to move joint top of the league so it was disappointing not to take it.”

Meanwhile, Shire coach John Coughlin said that his players were “disappointed at not winning.”

Berwick’s third win in a row saw them win 5-3 at Montrose. Martin Boyle opened the scoring before Darren Gribben grabbed a double for the Borderers.

Paul Lunan equalised before Berwick went two ahead thanks to a Stuart Noble double. Ross Gray added a fifth in injury time following a goal from Montrose’s Dougie Cameron.
