Rangers are monitoring the Wigan Athletic pair Martyn Waghorn and James Tavernier as they look again to the English market to strengthen ahead of the new season.
Waghorn, 25, is an experienced striker who represented England at under-19 and under-21 level. He was a member of the Wigan side who were relegated from the English Championship last season, scoring three times in 23 league appearances.
Born in South Shields, he began his career with Sunderland and had loan spells at Charlton Athletic and Leicester City. He went on to sign for the latter and played over 100 league matches (scoring 20 goals) before moving to Wigan last year.
Tavernier, 24, is a full-back who spent the second half of last season on loan at Bristol City. He began his career at Newcastle.
