Steve McClaren would consider becoming the next manager of Rangers, according to Sky Sports News.
The 56-year-old is on the Ibrox board’s shortlist to replace previous head coach Pedro Caixinha.
The Portuguese boss was sacked after failing to improve Rangers’ fortunes in his seven months in charge.
McClaren has been out of management since leaving Derby County in March of this year. He’s been working as a coaching consultant with Maccabi Tel Aviv since August.
McClaren was linked with the Hearts manager’s job earlier this season after Ian Cathro was axed.
Along with Derby, McClaren has been in charge of Middlesbrough, FC Twente, Wolfsburg, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and the England national team during his managerial career.
