Hibs are no closer to knowing who they will face in the second qualifying round of the Europa League after Irish outfit Drogheda held Malmo to a no-scoring draw in Dublin.

Drogheda held out despite having striker Ryan Brennan sent off for a second bookable offence in a match watched by Easter Road chief scout David Henderson who will accompany manager Pat Fenlon to next Thursday’s return match in Sweden.

Malmo are favourites to progress but Drogheda boss Mick Cooke admitted he hopes his side can pull off a shock in the second leg. He said: “We had just two lads in the Xl with European experience. To keep the tie alive against Malmo, especially with ten men, showed great character.

“We’re underdogs, but hopefully we can get an away goal there.”
