Real Madrid coach Rafael Benitez is reportedly still undecided over whether to farm out midfielder Martin Odegaard to Celtic this summer.

Celtic boss Ronny Deila is reportedly keen to sign the 16-year-old and has so far been unsuccessful in securing a move to Parkhead.

Real Madrid saw off competition from a string of high profile European clubs to sign the wonderkid in January this year.

While having trained with the first team and played in the club’s pre-season tour of Australia, Benitez reportedly believes the Bernabeu regime needs to make a decision soon about whether to continue his football education away from Madrid. (

Dundee United target Scott Allan

Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara is set to test the resolve of Hibs’ to keep Scott Allan as he reportedly attempts to make another bid for Scott Allan.

The 23-year-old has publicly made clear his intention to stay at Easter Road, despite interest from Celtic and Rangers.

Although an initial bid of £250,000 was rebuffed, McNamara is hoping to lure the midfielder, voted voted the Championship’s player of the year last season, back to Tannadice. (The Scotsman)

Hibernian linked to United’s Paul Patton

Hibs are reportedly targeting Dundee United’s Paul Patton.

The 28-year-old is facing an uncertain future at Tannadice after disciplinary matters on and off the field.

Hibs boss Alan Stubbs is reportedly keen to snare the Northern Irishman and another midfielder for his squad, despite signing former Burnley star Marvin Bartley.

Stubbs is hoping to fill the gaps left by Liam Craig, Scott Robertson and the on loan Dylan McGeouch who exited Easter Road at the end of last season. (Various)

Mark Warburton building Rangers squad ‘to be feared’

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has defended his six signings, while also ruling out a big name signing this summer.

Warburton said he is building a team of ‘babes’ to bring the fear factor back to Rangers.

He also said he is ‘delighted’ with how his new team is shaping up following the successful bid for Andy Halliday. Warburton is still reportedly on the hunt for Wigan’s James Tavernier. (Daily Record)
