Teams chosen by Stiliyan Petrov and James Milner played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Parkhead, with proceeds from the day shared equally between the Celtic Foundation, the Stiliyan Petrov Foundation and the James Milner Foundation.

Former Celtic and Aston Villa midfielder Petrov named a number of former teammates in his side, including Henrik Larsson. Artur Boruc, Johan Mjallby and Shay Given, while Milner’s side included the likes of Joe Hart and Dirk Kuyt.

Milner’s team took the lead through freestyle footballer, Jeremy Lynch, but Celtic replied soon after through former striker, Robbie Keane.

Ex-Spain international, Joan Capdevila put Milner’s team back in front before Manchester United’s Ashley Young equalised for Petrov’s team.

Capdevila would score again before half time, but ex-Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor ensured it would be honours even at the final whistle, dispatching Larsson’s perfect cross.

In March 2012, Petrov was diagnosed with acute leukaemia and retired as a result the following year. His Foundation was started in 2013, seeking to develop safer and more practical process for treatments, relapses and the prevention of leukaemia and cancer.
