CELTIC could face Uefa sanctions after a flare was let off at last night’s match in Zagreb in an area of the stadium which housed travelling supporters.
Police in riot gear were seen confronting Celtic fans during the match at the Maksimir Stadium.
The Scottish side had warned supporters beforehand against letting off flares.
A statement on the Celtic website directed at fans travelling to Croatia said: “We stress the dangers surrounding fireworks and pyrotechnics which are considered a serious safety issue. The discharge of such items, not only creates a hazard to spectators but will expose Celtic FC to disciplinary action by Uefa.”
