Celtic are exploring the possibility of a loan deal for Leicester City defender Filip Benkovic, according to the Daily Mail.
The Croatian arrived for £13 million before the end of the English transfer window and the Hoops are hopeful of persuading Leicester that a stint with the Scottish champions is what he needs to get up to speed in British football.
Manager Brendan Rodgers is still looking to recruit another centre-back before the end of the transfer window, despite insisting that he’s confident Dedryck Boyata will remain a Celtic player.
The Belgian scored on his return to the first-team as the reigning Ladbrokes Premiership champions defeated Hamilton Accies 1-0 at Celtic Park.
It has also been reported by the Daily Mail, however, that Boyata still expects to leave the club before the weekend. Turkish sides Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, along with La Liga club Sevilla, have been credited with an interest.
