In the Premier League, Newtongrange Star boss Alan Miller is looking to build a side capable of winning promotion. He is talking to two players from the Super League although negotiations are at a delicate stage.

Goalkeeper Gary O’Connor and talisman Gareth Hutchison have both hung up their boots, while Paul Forbes and David Beattie are on the transfer list. Miller hopes to be able to announce the new signings later this week.

Bathgate, with new boss Derek Strickland in charge, have re-signed most of their squad from last season with Colin Leiper, Lee Johnston, Marco Andrioni, Gary McCulloch and Gary Fallon agreeing deals to join those already contracted in. Goalkeeper Andy Murphy has been signed from Livingston under-19s in place of Carlin with Mark Lunn, Phil McGrath and Ross Hamilton all on the transfer list.
