Stirling and Gretna through to cup final

Stirling University beat Spartans 2-0 to reach the final of the Image Printers East of Scotland Qualifying Cup, where they will meet Gretna 2008, who recorded a 2-1 victory against Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale.

Stirling opened the scoring with a header from Craig Mason before a superb strike from Lee Nichol. Gretna took the lead against Lothian with an own goal from Kevin Lee before they equalised through Ross Elliot. Dean Rea ensured Gretna’s safe passage with a late penalty.

In the Central Taxis Premier Division, Whitehill Welfare moved into second with a 7-3 win against Civil Service Strollers. Edinburgh University drew 1-1 with Edinburgh City, Tynecastle beat Heriot-Watt University 2-0 and Preston Athletic recorded a 4-2 away win against Vale of Leithen.

Coldstream are the runaway leaders in the First Division after their 2-1 win against Ormiston.
