Steven Fletcher made the front cover of L’Equipe after notching his first goal for Marseille.
The Scotland striker set up the first and scored the second in a 2-0 away win over lower-division side Trelissac in the last 16 of the French Cup.
He is pictured celebrating on the front of the respected French daily sports paper.
It was Fletcher’s first start for the French club since he moved on loan from Sunderland on transfer deadline day last month.
The former Hibs forward produced a clever lay-off to set up Romain Alessandrini on the edge of the penalty area after 33 minutes to open the scoring against the fourth-tier hosts ahead.
After heading over and then shooting just wide in the second half, Fletcher made sure there would be no late drama when he stabbed in a right-wing cross from Abdelaziz Barrada at a wet Stade Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux.
Fletcher said: “The pitch wasn’t easy. I’m happy to score my first goal for Marseille but I’m just as happy to have got my first start.
“Lots of people asked why I came to Marseille. I’ve come here to play football.”
Michel, Marseille’s Spanish coach, said: “Steven Fletcher scored a goal and found himself with lots of opportunities in the oppositing penalty box. That was good enough for us.”
Marseille travel to third-placed Nice on Sunday in a Mediterranean derby.
