The Paisley club agreed to give the Championship leaders the south, north and part of the west stand for their final-day clash.

St Mirren chief executive Tony Fitzpatrick claims the move could earn the club £70,000 but around 200 season ticket holders will be forced to move.

Yesterday, a statement by Fitzpatrick and St Mirren Fans Council chairman Colin Haggerty read: “The club has engaged with The St Mirren Fans Council and have taken on board the thoughts and feelings of our supporters.

“Affected Season Ticket holders are being offered a £10 reduction on next season’s season ticket and will be invited to a special screening of the League Cup winning video at a future date to be confirmed.

“The club wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
